New to Acupuncture?
Sometimes in the winds of change, we find our true direction.
Acupuncture can be a little like visiting a foreign country for the first time. The language is different, the customs and concepts, too.
But once you overcome the fear of the unknown, you quickly learn how to navigate through and appreciate the fresh but rich perspective.
What should I expect?
What does it feel like?
While it’s common to experience different types of sensations during needling, pain is not a common one. Many first time patients are relieved to experience deep relaxation and pain reduction during the session, most patients fall asleep or enter meditative states. We also incorporate specific breathing techniques during acupuncture to support the process and calm anxiety.
Are there any side effects?
The most common side effects of acupuncture include feeling rested, improved sleep, mental clarity and concentration, and stress/pain reduction. Adverse side effects are more than unusual.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of treatments will vary depending on how long you’ve been experiencing the condition for which you’re being seen, as well as on your current state of health. Most patients do, however, experience relief after the first treatment.
How do I get started?
Together we’ll co-create a plan of action that supports your health goals, as well as a vision for improving your overall wellbeing and personal transformation. Feel free to set up a free virtual or in-office consultation, and we can discuss what to expect for you personally.
