Stone & Crystal Therapy

By virtue of its strength, durability and hardness, jade has long been a symbol of protection and royalty in Chinese culture. And the diamond, due to its purity, a traditional western symbol for divine union. And, of course, the quartz crystal - used in watches and clocks, radios, and many other techno-industrial appliances because it maintains a precise frequency standard which helps regulate movement.

Although modern empirical science has yet to develop the tools to understand how this ancient practice works medicinally, crystal and stone therapy has a lengthy history of helping with a broad range of dis-eases. (And at the very least, carries the placebo effect.)

As with the fundamental principle upholding Chinese medicine and herbology, it’s all about the relationship between things when it comes to working with stones and crystals. It’s all about resonance.

Behind the magic and the aesthetics we find that these gems and stones each have a vibratory frequency, based on molecular structure and specific to their geographical origin. They harness pure energy from the sun, moon, oceans, mountains and valleys. But they also kind of do what your favorite t-shirt does.

The specific frequency they each carry resonates - or naturally has a special relationship - with specific parts of us, physically and metaphysically. According to Chinese herbal medicine, roots and below-ground vegetables are great for grounding the nervous system and treating lower body issues, while we use flowers to treat things that affect the upper body and head, like allergies and sinusitis. This is resonance.
